I lived in Salford Quays for four years, in the apartment block on top of the Lowry mall.

I'll pre-empt your question by answering a few common questions about this great city.

  • MUFC, not MCFC
  • No, I do not like Oasis
  • No, it is not Liverpool
  • ... or London
  • Yes, it rains here sometimes
  • Yes, we sometimes put gravy on chips

Let me guess: You need some Mancunian to break into John Mayall's flat and steal his Telecaster?

Don't know whether you know or not, but Buffalo Bill visited Salford ages ago with his wild west show and they performed at what is now the Lowry site and a Red Indian chief, chief Red Shirt had this picture taken in a photographer's about 100 yds from where I used to live

Both exceptionally important points to make.

Manchester will always be red.

Well I've heard that a part has come up in Coronation Street for the long lost grandson of Ena Sharples, once played by Davy Jones of The Monkees, who knows where this could lead Chet, Saturday morning shows, girls screaming uncontrollably at every turn, Pop superstardom, best of luck

I'm not from there, but I'd love to make a pilgrimage there someday. It is home of one of the bands that has have the most influence on me. These guys: Image

And of course, I can't leave out this, too: Image

Because I'm in the States, I could rarely get to see a match (I don't have a premium satellite package,) but luckily they've been showing most of the Premier League matches on NBC Sports network for the past year or so. Looking forward to World Cup this year, too.
