Anybody else having trouble? Form refuses to believe Fender Rumble 112 cabinets actually exist. Nor will it accept Sweetwater as an authorized dealer.

Forget about it, you aren't actually registering the Amp's warranty, as most people think. The Warranty does not require registering to activate, it is valid as soon as you make your purchase.

Registering does nothing more than add you to the database... and the mailing list.

cheers!

That goes for the guitars as well?

Correct. All you need for the warranty is your purchase receipt from an authorized dealer. (Some amps have transferable warranties -- for those, you need the original purchaser to sign the receipt over to you -- "I, (insert seller's name here), sold this amp to (insert your name here) on such and such a day" or words to that effect written on the original receipt.) Online registration is purely for marketing research.

Cool, thanks for that. I was planning on registering my stuff online, but if all that's going to accomplish is to get me a bunch of junk mail, I won't do it.

The only junk mail you'd get would be from Fender (new product announcements, things like that). They don't sell your info to third parties or anything like that.

The main purpose of product registration is market research. What sort of people buy what sort of products, where they buy them, how they find out about them. So they have an idea of what sort of products they should be developing, what type of dealers they should cozy up to, where they should spend their advertising dollars.

It helps them make products that we'll like better. It also helps them sell more of those products, so they can continue being profitable and spend more money on improving their products.

They won't flood your inbox with junk mail -- if you have topic notifications turned on here you get junk every time someone replies to a thread you've participated in, and that's a lot more junk than you'll get from registering your gear. While I tell everyone that asks that it's not necessary to register their gear, it's not a bad thing to do -- just not necessary for warranty coverage.

I am fairly certain that the Magnusson-Moss act of 1975 did away with a requirement to register to be entitled to use a warranty, but I'm not a lawyer.

Also, Fender does not provide a full warranty for any of their products, except where required by law. Otherwise, like here in the US, they're always limited warranties.

Your sales receipt from an Authorized Dealer, is basically your Fender warranty, proof of purchase, etc.

Another issue is this website has been buggy since they changed it a couple of years ago. If you try to delete your account here, you can't, as an example. This could be the reason why you're having an issue. Come to think of it, I think I had a problem initially with either that Squier Tele or Jazz Bass I bought in either registering or reviewing. I don't recall.

That is effectively the exact same thing as "registering" online.

I like how Fender automatically activates your warranty. Classy move.

A warranty doesn't have to be "activated". As long as a consumer has proof of purchase, he can invoke it. Companies like to give the impression that you have to register, but that hasn't been the case since 1975.

When I tried to register my Black Paisley Telecaster it said it could not find it ... last count there were either 250 or 450 made ... Fender is horrible about tracking "historical" data. They are good about FSR decals, but they mean nothing if you can't register your purchase ... why buy an FSR if it means NOTHING???? fender, I am asking you for an answer!!!! If your DB can't find a model, then the Special Run is worthless!!! Right?? I am hoping someone proves me wrong here!!!

'Multiple exclamation marks,' he went on, shaking his head, 'are a sure sign of a diseased mind.'

What leads you to thinking that a special run would be worthless if you can't easily register the guitar? It's not like Fender disavows it. The registration is just so you can get into the customer database - it does not change anything about the guitar or its value.
