She's incredible Arjay-I love Malibus even though my faves are the 66 and 67s.We had a '68 Malibu sedan the same colour but as much as I pleaded with my father to buy the 4 door hardtop rather than the sedan,he insisted on the sedan even though the hardtop was a beautiful guitar compared to the drab sedan.
Yours appears to be a '69 if I'm not mistaken and she's just incredible.I couldn't pick out the engine size under the SS symbol,is she a 396,327 0r 350? Either way these beautiful sleds could really pin you to the seat when you floored them.

100 dollars for a car...its never going to happen lol. basically these days if you want anything halfway decent...you need to spend at least 2 grand. then again, sometimes you might get lucky

Thanks, guitslinger!

It's a rotisserie-restored SS396 Chevelle in LeMans Blue from 1969......

As "guilty pleasures" go, it's just about as satisfying as owning an old pre-CBS Strat.

Hey, your guitar case is the same color as mine.

Did anyone ever make a Le Mans blue guitar?

No, Le Mans blue looks azure when the light hits it straight on, but darker blue from any other angle, as you can see on both our guitar cases. It's close, but doesn't do the color change.

Generally speaking, the most EXPENSIVE car to own will be the one which was the CHEAPEST to buy.

Why waste $100 on a car which is gonna cost you thousands to keep on the road, but yet still be a $100 car?

As mentioned, buy a bike.

cheers!

For practically the same price too... !!

Seriously though, Beautiful Car Roger !! :D :D

Love American Muscle, have owned more than a few in my day. Like my '72 Buick Gran Sport Stage 1 (also in LeMans Blue) - probably should have never sold this one: :(

But currently, as you can see, I'm enjoying some distinctly more germanic flavors: 8)

The first two combined, or the last one alone, would each buy me something from the pre-CBS era as well !!

cheers!

Bad thing is I want to use it to do my own modifications and then paddock bash. lol I'm heading to the junkyard to find a decent one. I seen a 1997 Hyundai Excel for $200 on Gumtree. Though I only have $100 to spend. Which is idiotic on my Aunt's part as I need a perfectly running but not the best looking car. lol

I miss some of my old cars (Chevelle SS, Dart, Daytona, Nova, Duster) but I sure don't miss how crappy they handle compared to modern ones.

Yeah, same here. I mean, I'd love an old Shelby, AMC AMX or similar, but my little bimmer can run circles around them in handling. I wish the new cars were as beautiful as the old ones, but what Detroit makes these days look one step worse than the Germans, so...
