For me, 12-strings are for guitarists who have a guitar tech to tell "hey, go tune this for me". They sound great, but can be a pain to tune. And that guitar looks like especially high on the "pain" scale than most due to the unusual string paths on the headstock. I am not being a hater ... it is just my casual opinion. Very interesting idea, though ... no doubt about that.

My 12-string acoustic is easier to keep in tune than many of my electrics. It's easy to hear when you're off because you have another string that's unison or octave. And the neck pull is harder, which means the neck is stiffer, which helps it keep tuning better.

Intonation, on the other hand, is problematic, so playing high frets will almost always sound sour on a 12-string. You need a very special saddle to be able to do intonation right.

That's the stoopidiest fookin' thing I've seen all week (but hey, it's only Wednesday)!

You want a Strat 12-string?

Let Fender do it......the right way.

well it was a Squier...
12 stings are more work to change strings and to tune, but worth it--although if I could afford to have a regular guitar tech--I'd do it.
I hate changing strings.

Dreadful isn't it? Some of the strings are angled round tuner posts for the other strings, there's strings running through holes, round corners and in every direction. And it just looks stupid. Really, is a Warmoth 12 string neck prohibitively expensive?

No one does 12 string better than Rickenbacker. The Fender 12 string head looks like it weighs as much as the body.

I would have cut off all of the sculpted headstock parts.

This should only be attempted on the Large 70's head stock

... and that would be the ugliest fookin' think I've seen all week.

As far as I'm concerned, there are just 2 electric 12-strings worth thinking about (if a double-neck counts):

Then there's the times when two strings per course isn't enough:

+1 That's pretty horrible. I use Big Bends Nut Sauce on all my guitars and have no tuning issues including my beater Yamaha 12 string acoustic.
