Some III IV info...

He has a bunch of reviews of the Mustang compared to tube amps. So poke around his feed.

I have to say--it depends what you want it for--what do you want it to do?

Too often people put down some type of gear because it doesn't do something it wasn't intended to do.

So decide what you want it for and try them both and try other stuff too.

STFU Buxom!  j/k

I love my Mustang III, can't imagine trading it in for a little 15 watt tube amp. I would love to have both though.

I think I'm going to get the champ looked at first before I buy one of other amps. If they can get it working good might just use it .

In the case of the Mustang I had, I ditched it because it did do something it was intended to. It modeled. Always.

Replacing it with an Orange practice amp made it so much more pleasurable to play that I practice far more than I did. With the Mustang, it was always a chore to try to find the best settings.

Forget either one of them and get the 83 Super Champ to a good amp tech and get the reverb fixed! The Super Champ is far superior to either one of the amps you listed.

+1, that is a great amp!

I am unsure of what kind of speaker comes with these amps. If you'd like to put some of the money you'll save towards a nice reversible upgrade, it may be beneficial to treat the amp to a Weber speaker.

Best advice I have ever heard on this site, and a TON of truth in the statement of those who all too often slam a pice of gear because it doen't do something it was not intended to do,...or even designed to do,for that matter! Try both and decide which you think will best do what you need it to for your application!
