I'm not sure if I'll ever buy another Gibson. Maybe ... but probably not. They just don't do it for me the way their price tag should suggest. I do not believe they are twice the guitar that a MIA Fender is but they cost twice the green when comparing on a level field.

Really? Now where is the American made $250 MSRP Fender that's comparable to my American made $500 MSRP Gibson SGJ?

Let's see--some Gibson are good, some are not.
Some Fenders are good, some are not.

I own both, and like both.
I also own Ibanez--same thing I like mine-some are good, some are not.

It partially depends on what you mean by "Sucks"

there's no law saying I can't play both.
I haven't signed any exclusive agreement with any guitar company--but if one were to make a generous offer I would consider it...

My only beef with Gibson is that they need to do more with P90s.

Humbuckers are pretty boring.

Sorry but that's a nit-pick.
For every rule there is an exception.
It's still a general rule despite the exception.
There are men in this world who suffer through life without having penises.
It's still a general rule that men have penises.

Don't be silly! Of course Gibson makes some of the best electrics. If you doubt, see how far away you are from affording one of the top of the line models the pros use.

I own 4 Fender electric guitars and 1 Gibson LP. I do not think my LP sucks at all. I am sure glad I also got one of the rare ones from the factory that didn't suck.

Here's a little reminder for those who say that Gibson bas guitars suck-pick up a copy of "Disraeli Gears" by Cream,Jack Bruce played a Gibson EB 3 bass on every track and still makes use of the same guitar.

Jack Bruce is a great player. I would never, ever chase his EB tone. Sorry. As good as he sounded. He'd have sounded better on Fender. Gibson makes Basses like giant low tuned guitars. They build them as copies of their guitars. What makes a good guitar does not make a good bass. I take no issue with Gibson's build quality when it comes to their insturments. I know plenty of guitarists who think Gibson basses are great. That's not very surprising.

I fully agree that Gibsons are great guitars. I have 2 SGs and 2 LPs and all four of them are incredible instruments. Oh, and my Gibson acoustic would blow any Fender acoustic from here to the netherworld.

 I like Strats and Teles just fine too… they're all iconic guitar models and each has their own place in music history, and also in the future of music-making.

Humbuckers aren't boring, P-90's aren't boring, other sigle coil pickups aren't boring.

maybe what you do with them is boring...

On "Disraeli Gears", Jack used a Fender Vl, on Strange Brew. Jack played a Danelectro on "Disraeli Gears" also. The Fender Vl was used by Jack on the majority of the "Fresh Cream" album. An old friend used nothing but a Gibson EB1 for years, both in studio, and on stage. Any bass will play well when you know what to do with it. The EB1 backed Leslie West.
