Because I love my Super Champ XD so much, I suggested an amp some time ago and was hoping to see that it was developed. My suggestion was to make a 40 watt version of the Super champ or a tube version of the Champion 40. With the hotrod deluxe tube power section mated it to the super champ xd preamp section(or the champion 40), throw in on the front panel a headphone out,an aux input(for cd player to jam with) and you got a winner in my book . offer it in tweed, black or like the sonic, white... Best part is Fender already has all the stuff to do this.. I would call it the Super Deluxe XD and I would buy it in a heart beat....Come to think of it you could make a twin 60 watt version too...awesome!!!

That's the problem right there.
Wishes should be written with tea on an uncut paper, then rolled up without creating any creases, tied with a wool string, and finally hidden in a hollow tree on a new moon night.
The effect is at least as good as sending in suggestions.

Indeed, they have their top men on it. Top. Men.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, suggestion boxes and forum reps are for making customers feel better. You're allowed to suggest things, and are given a thank you. What you received was a standard reply. Do a search on the amp forums, and you'll find dozens of them.
But your expectation should be that it goes nowhere. If anything, if something really inventive is suggested, a company cannot use it. Taking someone's idea and making money on it opens up for possible lawsuits.
But if it made you feel better, that's good, right?

Sounds like a cool amp. And yes, feel there is a market for it. That's what makes things happen... if the folks at Fender feel there's a market for it... it'll happen.

Several years ago at the Tempe Guitar Show I had a lengthy conversation with Shane Nichols, one of Fender's R&D amp guys. Among the subjects discussed was my suggestion that FMIC produce a straight re-issue of the Fender Vibrolux Reverb Amp. I also mentioned that giving it drip-edge silverface cosmetics would set it apart from the blackface '65 re-issues.

Guess what?

Fender has just released such an amp (though they added a couple of novel twists to my basic recommendation).

As long as there are guitarists with a vision for something new who relay their ideas to the appropriate department, there'll be people at FMIC who are willing to listen.

Hang in there -- your dream may yet see the light of day.

Arjay

While we're dreaming here, I think it would be cool if Fender could somehow make these kinds of tech-heavy amps modular in design, so when they come out with better processors you could simply slide out the old module and pop in a new one. Would be a good way for them to milk us for a little more money every 5-10 years too. I can pretty much achieve the same concept putting a Zoom G3 in front of my amp but I'd rather it all sat in the same big box.

Walked up to a Fender guy once and said "you know what you guys should do? You should make a tube amp with a REALLY good clean channel."

For some reason, he just stared at me. Last time I ever suggest anything. Sheesh.

I mean the little computer processor that's in the X2 that gives it all its voices. Make it so we can rip it out and replace it with the one from the X3 when it becomes available. So we can have more gigabytes and megahertz and stuff.
