Hi, I found a really nice Jackson I might want to get, but it has Seymour Duncan pickups. I prefer EMG's, but I have never tried Seymour Duncans, so I don't know if I would perfer them better or the EMG's. Please give me your options on which is better.

IMO a small California company called Alembic builds the only active electronics worth owning(not counting the now almost unavailable Lace and Kubicki). Fender still makes the best passive pickups, to this day.

I'd have to pick the Duncan's over the EMG's. Electro Magnetic Generators eat up speakers.

I admit I have not tried all that many guitars equipped with EMGs but the ones I did try failed to impress me. On the other hand I have tried lots of Duncan pups I liked.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

got a set of Railhammer humbucker pickups in one of my projects. They are quite nice, i went with the Hammer / Chisel set. I think many of the Reverend guitars come with them now.
