I'm not the biggest Nirvana fan in the world, but I think every CD collection isn't complete without a copy of Nevermind.

I also thank God in heaven for that album because it killed hair metal.

I like them somewhat, but not that much. I think Cobain is an overrated guitarist and songwriter, but credit has to be given for starting a musical revolution I suppose.

Saying without Nirvana thered be no Pearl Jam is jumping the gun a bit buddy. Check this out http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltgu ... entries*=0
And personally I am not a fan of nirvana dont mind one or two songs but they are definitely overrated. It is impossible for nirvana to be underrated with all the fuss that goes on about them and their trillions of wannabe admirers.

Nirvana was the band that turned me on to the alternative/underground music scene of the ninties and beyond. If it wasn't for them, I probably would never have heard of Big Black, Mudhoney, The Pixies, etc... I would probably still let radio forcefeed me what they want me to listen to, just b/c I wouldn't know any better. I think that this current young generation just doesn't care much about b/c they don't know/care/realize the impact Nirvana had on the underground/alternative scene. Nirvana got bands exposed that would have otherwise have gone largely unnoticed. Today, finding new music is just a few mouse clicks away.

Oh, and Sappy was included on the box set and You Know You're Right was released on the greatest hits disc simply titled Nirvana.

Other songs NOT on Nevermind people should check out: "Oh, The Guilt", "Verse, Chorus, Verse", and "Token Eastern Song".

i get made fun of for wearing nirvana shirts to school now, and i can understand that people think they're overrated because of smells like teen spirit, but if they'd listen to other songs not on nevermind, they would realize that they're actually underrated

if you don't believe me, listen to

school from BLEACH

frances farmer will have her revenge on seattle from IN UTERO

sappy or you know you're right from YOUTUBE (they were never released on an album)

Yes I like Nirvana. One of the best shows I've seen.

Poorboy56, I play highschool football does that stereotype me as "one of those jocks"? I understand your frustration with jocks because most of them are $@! holes and do pick on other kids. And yes I do get ridiculed by all of the other athletes for my musical tastes and my clothes. But I still keep the faith. So to any of you that get picked on, don't give in to all of the fads and be a leader. [/quote]
