Does anyone here have any experience with such ? The only one that really has impressed me (some years ago) was a Laney LA65D . But then I have not tried so many......

The band I'm playing in these days mainly want to do things acoustic. Though we often use an electric bass and drums . The few gigs we're doing ,seems to be in small places.

I'm looking for some advice here - where to look first . Thank you in advance :D

Depending on the volume you need of course, check out the Fender Acoustasonic PRE-DSP amps. I have a 30 and really like it. One of those amps I'd never sell. I had a small grounding issue with it a few years ago (warranty) and the store gave me a new DSP Acoustasonic 30 to use while mine was being repaired. These are supposed to be the same amps with added effects, but they're not. They even offered to exchange mine (4 years old) for a new DSP model and I said no. Mine has reverb and chorus, that's it for effects. It sounds great for being solid state.

Thank you for the recommendations, guys- I will consider both . I just discovered the Fishman mini at a web-shop. Seems to be very interesting :)

I have this 30 Watt Fender combo that has a mic and a guitar input. It doesn't have enough poop to do anything by itself, but it's good when I line it out to a PA (it also doubles as a monitor in this config)

+1 if you want your acoustic to sound like an acoustic, go with Fishman. Modeling amps will make you sound like a clown show. Never understood why amp models are in an acoustic amp. My Fishman has been stellar. Also,
60-100 watts would be my minimum if I were doing any gigging.

I agree with both the Fishman Loudbox and *pre-DSP* Fender Acoustasonic suggestions.

The new Acoustasonic amps just don't sound as good as the old ones. They're completely different amps and I suspect the new ones are more cheaply made. I've got an Acoustasonic Junior that's about 10 years old and -- aside from the fact there's no line out -- I think it's a great amp.

Thanks , guys ! The recommendations seems to lean towards the Fishman. I will definatly check it out. I have been busy with other things, so I have not tried it yet. I get the impression that it will suit my needs. The acoustasonic will be hard to find here, I suppose. Thanks !

No Loudbox was available for testing or sale in a shop in a reasonable distance from where I live.
Since I am not always as patient as I should be, I ended up with this one a couple of days ago . I am pretty satisfied , though I still wonder if this was the right choice. A gig is approaching in a couple of weeks, and I am happy to spend some time getting to know it. I can tell you , it was a pure pleasure to use it for rehearsal thursday night !

I find it very comfortable with the tilt-back option , and I guess it will serve well as a monitor , when needed !

Hi A-Man! The fairly new Fender Acoutasonic 90 or 150 are both excellent. The digital modeling/amp sims along with the onboard digital effects are all first rate/world class. They are especally good if you're running vocals too rather than a small pa. Very versatile and cost effective specialty amps that sound great doing it.

"This was recorded via the line outs of the amps, directly into Pro Tools. I used a Shure Beta 87 vocal mic, with phantom power provided by the amp! Thx for watching:) hope you enjoy!" ~ The Waters

I haven't tried the Fishman Loudbox but I can promise you that my Genz Benz Shenandoah Pro LT is an amazing acoustic amplifier. My guitar plugged in sounds like my guitar unplugged and it is very resistant to feedback even at higher volumes. It's a great gigging amplifier. Actually it was designed to be a gigging amplifier. There are some small touches aimed at gigging musicians more so than recording studios. I looked at quite a number of amps before choosing this one. Genz Benz is also a Fender brand if that means anything.

Shen Pro LT

Unfortunately Genz Benz seems to be dead in the water and soon to join Sunn, and SWR.

Thanks for the inputs , guys. The shop in which I bought the amp, was pretty impressive to be placed in such a small village. They seemed to be very willing to take it back if I was not satisfied. So I guess I have to really try it out during the weekend. My impression is that it is pretty ''gigable'' , 65w and xlr line out for a console.
If I find that if I want to change it in , I will consider your advices. I also noticed there were some Ibanez Troubadours available there- both 80 and 150 w! Looked quite interesting to me.

That Laney sounds good in the video, and the company does have an excellent reputation for reliability. 8)

Thanks for your support , linnin - I just know that Laney has been around for years, and have not really heard something negative about them :D I like it a lot, but I'll have to'' test-drive'' it seriously during this weekend , keep the neighborhood awake
