How about Berry Oakley in the original Allman Brothers Band, with his famous bass guitar intro to "Whipping Post". 8)

Also his bass work on 'Les Brers in A Minor'!

As a point. There's no Jamerson on this list. Which is pretty mindboggling. Honestly, there's just so many legendary lines that have been laid down on Fenders in every genre that I don't know if we could ever really compile a list fair enough to vote on. Hell, just a list of "best live performances" would be staggering. One thing is for certain. Fender lines are better than other lines.

There should be another option for "other" - maybe the OP can edit and allow write ins.

One of my favorite basslines is the famous delayed riff from One of these days (Pink Floyd - Meddle, 1971).

One Of These Days, was one of the loudest songs Pink Floyd played live. They used a Quad sound system.

Agree with King that there are too many great bass lines to do a poll.
