Anyone know to get "legal rights" to cover a song on youtube??

I got a song there now, but don't know the legalities ,,

Also Is there an easy way to register or copyright my own song??
I know I could google and read all day long,,just thought if someone here has experience,,
They might share.

L.A.

Hi L.A. . No need to Google; YouTube themselves have some reasonably useful advice about how copyright works in relation to their website:

http://www.youtube.com/yt/copyright/en-GB/

I think you'll find the section towards the bottom particularly handy for gaining an understanding - where it says Learn more about copyright on YouTube.

Of course, there's a heck of a lot more to this topic than that. But it's a fairly user friendly place to start.

Cheers - C

Not too long from now, posting your playing on youtube will look even more amateur to the rest of the world. You're only giving yourself away for free, which looks like you have bad business sense. Sure, some of those youtube people have ended up in big name bands...but that isn't gonna happen for long. Personal youtube vids will be made fun of.

Find a real gig.
