There was a mint condition U.S. Dean at one of the local guitar stores here in town, that looked like that "Explorer", but it was finished more like the V. Probably the nicest guitar I've ever seen up close. Congrats!

Interesting. I've never seen a Dean Explorer 'cut-off' or close to similar.

I am glad I've never seen a cut-off Dean Z!
Don't think about coming close to mine with a circular saw or jigsaw.

It's sold. They were probably asking a good bit for it, cause it was for sale there for over 5 years. I might have had something to do with it, telling half the internet about it and all. Kinda miss seeing the thing.

I understand that Gibson did a limited run of those some years back. Clapton is seeing playing one during the ARMS concert.[MSG I believe]
Understand that he requested that modificaton having issues with large body. Not a bad looking variation, IMHO. They could do those through the Epiphone brand at lower cost.
