Here's a page I thought about doing for a long time and only had minor entries about it in the tourdates section when Scotty used to play there with Ronnie McDowell at the varied Elvis Festivals. The topic has been done quite a bit including the documentary by Mike Rose, Return to Tupelo and the package from the European Memphis Recording Service company, Tupelo's Own, in addition to the plethora of press and photo coverage it had and has been circulated. However, since we've reached that point in the timeline on Facebook I decided I should at least have a decent entry for it in the venue section so I've added this one.
Check out http://scottymoore.net/tupelo.html

There are literally hundreds of photos of these events and these are only a sampling of them. I've credited the photographers and sources where known but I've had many of them for sometime and just can't recall where some are from. My apologies for that. Be sure to check out the credits at the bottom of the first section too to see the folks that were a big help on this one and also the section appended courtesy Alanna Nash of her recent VF article if you have already.

Special thanks to Mike Rose, Roy Turner, Ron Brandon and Trevor Cajiao for their help with this one.

Thanks,
Jim

There were some comments I added to the FB post that I'll include here too about tickets.
Quote:
Collectors have been buying/selling tickets like these for a long time and like they I used to think they were from the show. But I have to wonder if this is only for admission to the fair, not to see Elvis. If so, this could be a later ticket since that's three times the price of gate admission in '56.

Thanks Mike. I hope to. They're forecasting snow flight day so I may try to move it up a day, fingers crossed.
