I had a problem like that sorta.
Couln't figure it out. I realized I was in a different room playin, and I plugged into next room again w/ ext cord. Problem solved. I live in a small apt and my outlets are sensitive.

Most A/C adapters and power supplies for electronics can cause hum. However, you mentioned that it increases when you hold the guitar a certain way, which to me indicates that it's a shielding or grounding issue inside the guitar.

Less of how I hold it, more like where. In different parts of the room it is lower or higher amounts of buzz. :)

I have had the same experience with my Blacktop Jag. Has not been solved, but my issue definitely seems like a grounding issue as it stops if I touch the strings... I have learned just to accept it. Does touching the strings or bridge make a difference for you?

Also, what amp are you using? How close are you to the amp when you play?

If it doesn't have a power tube in the circuit...I'm not that interested

Yeah, but only the bottom string. And I have a Frontman 25R but there is no buzzing with my other guitar.

First try the easy stuff. Get a ground-lift adapter for your amp... "ground-lift adapter" is that thing people use who still have those old-school electrical outlets with only the ability to receive a two-prong plug... or as my lovely wife referrs to it, "a threezy to a twozy". Sounds like a ground loop and you need to eliminate the loop.
If that doesn't work, only then spend more money and time 8)
