So, I have an old fender Mustang 1 amp that has a jack that has been bent way out of shape to the point where it won't work. I've opted to fix this myself since I actually understand the problem. However, I want to know the level of precaution I have to take for this. From images I've seen it seems like all of the capacitors are somewhat secluded, which is a good thing, but I'm still worried about any electrocution. I do have various resistors I could use to discharge a capacitor if need be, but again, I haven't done this before. Is this something I can tackle myself?

As a side note I do work on computers regularly which have their fair share of capacitors in them, and there never really was a risk associated with them, however the big guns are always hidden in a power supply.

Edit: I am also having a really difficult time opening the back. I don't want to ruin the airtight seal but it is very snug.

Edit 2: I got the back open, and with my luck the power supply is located exactly next to the offending jack, if someone thinks I shouldn't do this, I'll certainly heed their warning.

Update:

Everything is going smoothly, however the problem was that some weak solder joints in the input have cracked and seperated, however, one ripped part of the PCB it was attached to, so I'm going to have to solder in some wires to make the connection instead.

Edit: I tried soldering some pieces, but they were very close (2mm between points) and my clumsy hands couldn't make that happen, so I shot fender consumer relations an email to purchase a new pcb with the jacks and connector.
