Does anybody know why Guild doesn't make electric guitars anymore? My dad loved to play their hollow bodies....I'm very curious. Does it have to do with Fender buying Guild?

Please and Thanks!!

According to Wikipedia, Guild stopped producing electric guitars when they moved to the Tacoma factory after 2004.

I've asked that question here several times. Emailed Fender and Guild and still haven't recieved an answer. I just figured it was something they really didn't want to talk about yet, if at all. I wish they would make them again, at least the archtops. Guild archtops were every bit the equal of Gibson's and about half the price point. Something like that would be a great addition to the Fender family. A chance for Fender to put a dent in Gibson's archtop market. I know for a fact there's an awful lot of Guild hollowbody fans out there.

I got a reply.

Guild said they discontinued their electrics because they weren't selling well. They also said that they have some ideas in the works....I hope they do put some electrics back in like their hollow bodies... :)
