I was going for the tonal footprint of the guitars more so than the looks etc. and the 4 guitars that he has pictured have been for years generally accepted as the perfect basis for a guitarists inventory.Of course the Casino,Gretsch and Ricks would be great to give a well rounded representation of the main guitar tones and pickup types needed but the aforementioned 4 have been for years classed as the Must-haves for a gigging guitarist.

Last year on his Vinyl Tap program Randy Bachman did a whole series of programs dedicated to the basic types of guitars with regard to pickup types, number of strings, sonic footprint etc. and he even stated that the Tele,Strat,S.G. and Les Paul were the main foundation of a well rounded collection of gigging guitars and it has been stated many times over the years on this forum too.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I guess that could be summarized as 1) ash/alder with single coils and 2) mahogany with humbuckers.

That's a set I can work with. You need a 335 in there

This isn't an ES-335, but I like having a master volume control...

you have that backwards, Gibson is the 'darkside'. I welcome you as long as your name is not Duane Vallejos.
