We all know and love the late 70s and early 80s Fender guitars, the Lead I, II, and IIII. Why not make a Lead IV in the Pawnshop series? Give it 4 single coils witch 4 individual mini toggles to turn them on/off.

Trust me, it would be totally badass.

Had a lead II when they first came out. I modded the heck out of it. Was my first decent guitar. Put a Dimarzio bucker in. They were string through the back like a tele. Then I ruined it,I routed out the back(for a trem) and where the bridge was and put in a floyd rose. Later I put a real or original paf in. Back then I paid 40 bucks for one. Now the prices are out of control.

Wont happen. Even if they just reissued the lead series. I think the parts would be less quality. You would probably have to buy a gig bag. The originals came with a Fender hard shell case. Allen wrench for the bridge saddles, ect.

+1. The original Lead series was Fenders attempt to make a US model guitar for under $500, now that guitars from Japan, Mexico, and even China have made their way into the Fender Line up, at all different price points what would be the reason to "Reissue" them? None.

It would be cool if I still had mine. Morso before I wrecked it. The original neck pickup through my drip edge deluxe reverb had a nice clean sound. They were slanted how the strats bridge pups are.

They were cool, and have their fans--so that's the why-same could be said of the Performer as well.

But will it happen?

maybe, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Still they brought back the Starcaster & Coronado (Although I've only seen Coronadoes in stores, and not Starcasters)
So who knows?

The short timespan in which these guitars were offered should speak for itself.

Maybe it's just time for Fender to reintroduce a line of Super Strats again.

I remember those Lead series guitars. In fact, a friend of mine had one. I've never seen one that wasn't beat to $@!&, or some sort of mutation done to it, though. I suppose it wasn't a guitar that wasn't "pampered." :P

Aww, c'mon, you know you also secretly want a lime green BC Rich Warlock, as well. The late '80s were so festive like that. :P

Yes, I would like a bunch of those shredder guitars...I love to sit out on my back porch with my fire out, and they burn so steadily.

Or you recreate the scene from Hendrix at Monterey Pop Festival, as well.

That just gave me an idea for a guitar finish. You know that have the swirl finish, why not be creative with a blow torch? :P
