The new Fender bar table and stools in blue and the matching blue neon clock too? And there's Fender Lounge logo stools too! Me Likey, just not wealthy enough to afford such niceties. :D

Yeah, they look good. But for the price, they should be US made. And I have a strong suspicion those are Made In China, and with parts unavailable.

At least Fender's "lifestyle" products won't suffer from cold solder joints and crappy tubes.

If made by the same company that make Fender guitar stands, I predict that the plastic feet will fall off within weeks, and then it will be wobbly for the rest of its life, because Fender doesn't sell the parts.

Fender is struggling with QC on equipment they are famous for. Guitars and amplifiers. When a corporation starts putting out things that are not part of the original line-up, we are getting the the slop companies sell when they are trying to cash in on being a "brand" name. This is usually a bad sign, IMO. This is when profit rules above all else and selling anything with the company logo on it suffices for a clever business plan. In a real world there is trade and business. The first is a natural process and quite organic in a deeper sense. Business often loses its soul, or sells it for profit, and there is no moral compass to guide. Buying these offerings does make us aiders and abetters in a process that sees us as chumps. Paying money to buy a product from a company that does not make the product but merely slaps on a logo and then collect on the "brand" helps them to make sure we are under their spell. Spellbinding people to take their money is bad juju.

There is also my "thing" about paying for the right to advertise for a company. That is a form a masochism, from my view.

Or, maybe it is a genetic thingy.

That all said, it would make me happy for Linnin to find the resources to own what he desires. Spellbound people are still entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I am just no longer sure which countries offer these basic inalienable rights. :?

Hmmmmm , Harley Davidson has been doing this for a very long time .

Many have tried to cash in on the brand , the logo etc , building knock off's and such , T shirts and all manner of crap with the H-D brand on it. Lot's of products have been shut down by the legal department , zeroing in on copyright and logo infringement.

Yes......

That began right around the time that the Japanese started cleaning their clocks by building a better motorbike. And H-D still doesn't "get it".

Demonstrating the difference between national pride and jingoism. In the former you need to put up or shut up.

I'm new to the Forum and this is my first post; so apologies if I mess something up.

I did see the new gear and I purchased one of the neon clocks with the Fender Electro Lounge logo. The neon is cool and was going to be an awesome addition to my wall holding my Strats. Unfortunately, the clock isn't built all that great. I bought mine from Guitar Center and ended up returning two. I got my third yesterday and will be returning it for a refund. Here are the issues I had with them:

First clock: A "C"-shaped scratch on the graphic. Since I bought it specifically for the graphic, it had to go.

Second clock: Nice graphic, albeit cheaply made, but the fasteners (zip ties) holding the top portion of the inner neon tubing were busted. They stuck out and were unsightly; not to mention the fact that that tube may have broken loose in the future.

Third clock: No scratches on the graphic and all the fasteners were in place; however, this time there was debris floating around on the clock face/gaphic. But it wasn't too bad so I decided to mount it. The neon looked good. When I went to look at it an hour later, I noticed that the time was off and the hands weren't moving. I took it down and reset the time. It moved for a little while, then stopped. After further inspection, I noticed that the rear of the second hand was caught on the minute hand. Since I don't plan on opening it up and fixing it -- paid too much to risk further damage -- I'm returning it too. :(

Nothing inspires consumer confidence like three defective products returned for exchange or refund by a single customer.

My girl one year ordered me the CS logo guitar stool. It worked really well for a couple of years and then the bolts worked themselves off. Put them back on with a little loc-tite and it's still going strong. I want to say that was back in 07. So I can't complain, but I don't think I'd ever buy any of it for myself.

However, I usually get some Fender mugs or glasses or something from the lifestyle collection as a gift once a year or so. I've had no complaints with any of it. Mugs, Glasses, the Stool, or the bottle opener I have. Everything has been really nice quality. I do tell her to stay away from buying cheap electronic doo-dads, though. Those things are usually made poorly no matter whose name is on them.
