Gave her a good cleaning and polishing. I've got Dunlop Strap Locks, so I took off the bottom one and repeatedly smelt and felt the felt that sits between the strap lock and the body and couldn't discern any evidence of urination (sounds sick, I know, but I wanted to be sure I didn't need to replace the felt). I'm hoping that being such a little bugger, the dog didn't have that much to give and he only hit a limited area.

Lesson learned: Beware of dogs (except my own, they KNOW BETTER!)

I'd open up your local yellow pages, and find yourself a doggie mohel. That'll learn him!

you may have given fender an idea for thier next limited ed mod......all will have a transparent yellow splash of stain on some area of the guitar and the single coils will have some real bark to them. they'll call it the custom shop dog pee model, maybe have a custom stained tweed case too with a picture of a pitbull on it. i should get paid for this, come to think of it highline should too. lol.

Problem is, after you mark it, the next dog that comes by and sniffs it feels the need to lift his leg on it as well and after a while you have a real soggy piece of lumber on your hands. Maybe that's why some dogs get so territorial...

I like it, we could vary the depth of the transparent yellow and come up with a whole new palette of guitar colors, from Good Clear Stream to Severe Dehydration!

"Thanks everyone for the advice, I think a good cleaning is in order. I've been meaning to do it anyway, so this is as good a reason as any to put it in front of the ever lengthening honey-do list."

turned out ok then,

a couple of years ago we had a cat - it had an allergic reaction to some flea meds and started peeing all over the place , without even standing up to do so...one of those puddles happened right beside my CAR strat that was on it's stand - it didn't touch the guitar but the fender tweed strap i had on it soaked a lot of it up. it was washed several times before the smell left. yuck.
