hi , there's a wee pignose came up for sale nearby and seeing as how zappa used one on a few albums i was thinking of grabbing it , i've never played through one before so what are the thoughts on these little nasty sounding buggers  cheers

I have one and I love it!
It's a great little machine; kinda a one-trick-pony...but it's a heck of a trick!

You can get some (somewhat) clean tones out of at lower volumes, but it shines best when the knob is cranked up to 9:00...

Go for it--post pics when you get it!

I've had mine since around 1972. Still works great.

I did a gig, with no drummer where the lead player played through a pignose. It was a cafe type setting and he got the tone he needed as well as the dB limits the crowd needed.

He also had very considerate rhythm guitarist and bassist accompanying him. :D
