Are they especially stomp box friendly, or is it just easy to stand in them for a long time?

I'm looking forward to seeing that PG. I have wanted to put one of those on my natural Tele to replace the solid black one. Which happens to look very nice.

Black is always classy.

I wanted to change the pickguard on my 72 Thinline RI, but Fender had nothing except the same white pearloid bathroom one it came with. So I figured I would order a template from Greasy Groove to make my own, along with a temporary black with a discreet motif. Well, the template arrived ripped and unusable, and the pickguard was unusable due to production flaws (every hole looking like a volcano, and half the motif missing). The third item in the order was water damaged - the box it all came in was not damaged in any way, so this was clearly not shipping damage.
They never answered my e-mail asking whether this was a joke. 3 unusable items out of 3, and close to a month in shipping time. Needless to say they'll never get a red penny from me again.

So, are there any other more reputable places that sell pickguards? One with sapient humans inspecting what they ship?

Thanks to Santa & Mrs. LMN... a 1967 Fender Deluxe Blackface Amp ! 8)

Image

One of the last 400 Blackface Deluxes to be made before Fullerton switched over to Silverface production in Apr. '67 - Date Code QA (Jan. '67). AB763 circuitry.

Image

One-owner, all original (incl. orig. Sales Receipt dated Mar. '67). All tranny date codes/product #s match, orig. Oxford 12K5 speaker, orig. Tremelo pedal, orig. Victoria cover.

Cabinet - 10/10 (no dents)
Tolex - 10/10 (no tears, dings)
Front Panel - 10/10 (no scratches)
Back Panel - 10/10 (no scratches)
Grill Cloth - 8.5/10 (due to Nicotine staining)
Bright Work - 9/10 (needs shining)
Knobs - 9/10 (need cleaning)

Image

As far as Tone is concerned.... AMAZING !!

Side-by-side comparisons to my Peavey Delta Blues 115, '96 Fender Princeton Chorus or my Bugera Vintage 5... well there is NO comparison. I've never heard an amp so clean.

Located it in a small Ma & Pa store in KY on consignment w/ a motivated seller.

Got some great advice beforehand from one of our members who's especially knowlegeable about the Blackface Amps... so a Big THANK-YOU to him !! (To keep the Paparazzi away, I won't mention his name, but he's welcome to identify himself if he wishes).

Have already sourced all new NOS Vintage Tubes, and after the Holidays, I'll really clean it up, pull the chassis and check the Caps and set the Bias for the new Tubes.

cheers!

Some strings, and some money, with which I'm thinking of splashing out on a wee mandolin.

I also have something else quite special on the way, although it didn't arrive on time, but that's for another thread.

It is... The DeltaLab CTM-40 is a heck of a tuner & metronome. I mean, it does everything! 8)

Press and hold red button and it turns on in (default) Tuner Mode:

Tuner - wickedly accurate with an LED light and also an LED line. Press the red button again and it goes from silent (input jack) tuning to live, audible, A=440Hz tone tuning.
Press "Tempo" buttons and you can raise or lower the pitch from 440Hz, in case you want to tune 1/2 step down in Eb or something. Press the Note button, and it descends chromatically down from A=440Hz. (A, G#, G, F#, F, E, etc...etc....). Press and hold the red button, and the whole unit turns off.
Metronome - This is an excellent feature to have. Press and hold the Mode button and it switches from tuner to metronome. The red button becomes a "play/stop" button. The Tempo button does what it does. It increases or decreases the tempo speed. The Rhythm button changes the type of rhythm beat you want (quarter notes, eighth notes, triplets, eighth note/rest/eighth note combo, etc... The Beat button changes the beat from 2/4 to 3/4 to 4/4 to 6/8 to whatever beat combo you want. And like before, press and hold the red button, and the whole unit turns off.

It's an incredible little unit that runs on two little AAA batteries! 8)

Edit: I found a link on Guitar Center for it: http://www.guitarcenter.com/DeltaLab-CT ... 1551602.gc
