AMP STAND WITH ADJUSTABLE TILT, POINTED AT YOUR HEAD MIGHT HELP.

Also, with about any electric acoustic you might hear yourself better than with a solid body instrument. Since you are probably beating rhythm chords anyway, it might just work.

YOU COULD ALSO LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT CHURCH, I SUGGEST ONE LIKE THIS:

LOL, I love the Blues Brothers movie...

All great suggestions, especially the amp stand...

However, did you notice that no single instrument in the band stood out in the body of the song?
Even the voices, outside of the Rev. Cleophus James and the female soloist, blended to make a single mass of praise, rather than a bunch of solos?

I'm sorry but I just can't give an Amen to having only an organ and a choir. I'll freely agree that a lot of the contemporary Christian music out there sucks big time but I'm never going to agree in a trillion zillion years that an organ and a choir is better than a good worship team. Not gonna happen. Better than an unskilled or poorly prepared worship team, maybe but not even in the same game, let alone close to a good worship team on top of their game.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You need a monitor.

Again, I say a monitor will help you--as will an amp stand.

I played bass today, and I take a small bass amp I can hook up as my own personal monitor so I can hear myself play.
I hear the others through the other monitors (As well as a myself), but having my little amp as well also helps.
