It would be easier to pick a random ten from the top of your head. That I could do, even more so.

Tuff question for sure...but would have to go with...

Derek & The Dominos - Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.

Great guitar playing, perhaps some of the best ever put to tape, fine songwriting and some impassioned vocals. It is the one album I return to over the years and am always wowed by it.

Great album!

Nice to see some Beatles here as favorites.

If I had to pick only one (although it is a double album), it would be the "White Album". I think that I first heard it around 1968 on album, then 8-Track, then cassette, then CD, now MP3, and it never gets old.

"Past Masters" contains many of the songs of which most are familiar, and are often played on the radio. The majority of those songs weren't on any album, but released as singles, and it is very nice to have them all together in one compilation.

Mike, Bros, you win big, huge. Elmo Politzer prize for one hundred fifty leventh "Your Favorite Album" thread. Truly amazing you got bonus points for squeek the last one for the year in too. :D Congrats, you earned it.

The Ventures I can't remember and my vinyl is buried under a wall of boxes that is behind a wall of boxes or Elvis Hits from 57 that one's buried too

Please excuse me for being bored with the current threads...I'm interested in what the forum likes.

And don't be surprised if I "squeek" one in for 2014, too. I have a terrible memory with this sort of thing.

cool 8)
the Elvis greatest hits has his torso wearing a glimmer gold sport jacket lol the Ventures has Walk Don't Run and I think was released in 1962 perhaps.

I couldn't narrow it to ten let alone just one. It's easier for me to answer when I list my favorites excluding The Beatles. It leaves more room for others.

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Aja, Royal Scam, Katy Lied - Steely Dan

Lately I've been buying CDs to replace some of my favorite vinyl such as:

Disraeli Gears - Cream
Who's Next - The Who
Blind Faith - Blind Faith

There are just too many good ones.

I thought I was the only Mike Oldfield fan left!

Strangely two of my all-time favourite albums are live albums. Frank Zappa - Fillmore East and Deep Purple - Made In Japan.

That's one album I've actually heard on all formats. Vinyl, cassette, 8-track, CD, MP3. It was both my older sister and late brother's essential recording, thus that's probably why I did growing up from the 1970's until now.

here's 10 or so, since narrowing it down to one is some serious b*tch sh*t

White Lung - Sorry
Thee Oh Sees - Carrion Crawler/The Dream
Demilich - Nespithe
GZA - Liquid Swords
The Jesus Lizard - GOAT
Iron Monkey - Our Problem
Mclusky - mclusky do Dallas
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the 36 Chambers
Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime
Coachwhips - Bangers vs. F*ckers

Its hard to say... but on my holiday skirmishes I been listening to John Butler Trio's Live at Red Rocks album.

I'm seeing some great album choices on this thread....
