It's not a Fender. But I'm having a super strat built by Carvin and I'm excited to tell someone. Here's some of the specs:
Mahogany body and neck
Quilted Maple top
Neck through design with very small heel
Fixed hard tail bridge w/ string through body
Two custom wound humbuckers w/ coil split
Custom controls and layout partly inspired by my Am Dlx Strat
Ebony no streaks fretboard
24 Stainless Steel medium jumbo frets
MOP block inlays
Locking 19:1 tuners
Reverse angle 3+3 headstock
Black transparent stain on quilted maple top w/ triple deep finish process
No stain on body sides or rear, natural mahogany
Satin finish on neck
Eight weeks of hoping it's going to be "the one".

Thanks, you'd have a hard time stopping me from posting pics. It's nice to have a bunch of options to choose from. It also adds a bit of stress since some of my choices are custom and I won't be able to send it back if I don't like it. But I have it pictured in my head, and I think there's a pretty slim chance that I won't like it. Plus, I've had them build one other for me, so I know the quality and playability will be top notch.
The biggest question mark for me is going to be the neck pickup. It's an Allen Holdsworth signature pup, and I've never heard it. I picked it based on a graph of it's output curve. I play a lot on the neck, and this is a pretty hot neck pup, so I hope I guessed right. Only about 89 days to go!!

It's been a month since I ordered, and I got my first picture of it today. It still needs to get the finish sprayed on. When they get done with their three step finish, the top will look like a black diamond. The contrast with the natural mahogany body will be killer. The quilt is tighter than I expected, and I'm happy about that. My main concern was the control layout and they got that right. I asked for a custom layout and I was afraid they would group them too close together. Now just wait it out one more month!

Finally, it was delivered to my office today. I can't plug it in until I get home tonight to try out the Holdsworth neck pup. I love the feel and weight of it. The fixed bridge feels good to my palm. The control layout is spaced nicely. I can grab the master volume with my pinky, just like on my Strat. A really nice tight quilt on the top. I'm really hyped. I have the feeling this guitar will be going a lot of places with me.

ST300. See my first post for the specs. I had a custom control layout done. A master volume under the bridge pup. The other two knobs are tone and coil split for each pup. The center is a three way switch. Nice and tighty and out of the way till needed.

Sweet looking piece o wood you got there. I had a Carvin DC 22 quite a few years ago. It had a natural quilted maple top, great playing and feeling guitar...but the pickups left me cold for blues, but it was good for the heavier stuff. Hope you like your pickups as much as I disliked mine. Carvin quality was fantastic.

Thanks, I'm hoping the pups won't leave me wanting for too much. The neck pup is an Allen Holdsworth signature pup that was wound to do leads on the neck. That's the way I prefer to play so I'm hoping for the best. The bridge pup is a standard Carvin, but I spent quite a bit of time at their Hollywood store on multiple occasions, so I'm pretty sure I can live with that. It's the Holdsworth that is a gamble on my part.
