Hi LouisvilleNoob, funny that you should ask because a fellow member here is actually Atlas Amp Stands, the coolest guitar stands ever. Check his website out and let us know if you dig.

Thank you very much. Exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully that will meet the wife's approval ... I mean, I'm going to tell my wife she'll like this and takes it :)

I've heard basically the aforementioned "Hercules" as being the best available otherwise, make sure the rubber padding is the surgical tubing type. anything else over long periods of time may cause damage to the finish. 2cents :)

On Stage Stands work fine, sturdy enough at home, wont damage your neck, and are about ten bucks each.Take a look at one at your local guitar shop.

Don't know if this would be any good for gigs (Haven't played a gig in years tbh), but this little Fender fold up job is great that I picked up a few weeks back. Quite a tough little guy as well considering it's basically made of thick plastic.

I'm getting a 5 guitar stand for Christmas, so I can organize my music room a little better. Since I don't know about the padding, I'll be covering it with cotton cloth. I keep my guitars out so they all get played. Any guitar in it's case tends to get forgotten.
