Really i have always bean interested in guitars and the first person i heard was probably a Christian Rock player on the local station but in a more known area i would say EVH

I assume you meant Miyamoto Musashi. I don't see how you can apply combat concepts to playing the guitar. (The Book Of Five Rings is also not nearly as chock-full of practical advice as people imagine: the Musashi-mania that swept corporate America in the 80s was a bit of a wry hoax.)

A musician interested in how Eastern though might influence his or her playing would do better, IMO, by reading Eugen Herrigel 's "Zen In The Art Of Archery."

good call on zen and the art of archery i think it is a more focused look at the process of mastery i did reach the same conclusions reading musashi
