I got my little starter one assembled. It looks like yours before it went through puberty...

By the way, the Polytune 2 is really nice. Not only is the screen simply brilliant, the strum and tune feature is outright slick.

That is cooler than a week-old penguin turd! I love the clean looks of those Pedal Train boards...you did a great job putting that rig together--looks awesome.

Congrats and Happy New Pedalboard Day!

I don't mean to criticize, but is your wah upside down, or am I just looking at it wrong?

I have the same amp and run a Boss Bd-2 through it. It works great for a mild, Creamy not to distorted sound. I would highly recomend it.

Since you guys are talking about the Tube Screamer and showing different pedalboards, I'll chime in with mine.

I roughed out a template for a pedalboard (it is now complete - the photo is just old), and laid out my few pedals on it as seen below. The coolest pedal is the green metalflake one that I bought from that website BYOC. It IS the Ibanez Tube Screamer, you know what I mean? Those guys at BYOC duplicated the TS circuitry, the circuitboard, all the components, etc..etc.. and all you have to do it build it yourself, solder in all the components, paint the enclosure, and finally, plug it in and let her rip! 8)
Take the real, OEM, Ibanez Tube Screamer and the BYOC Classic Overdrive and put them side by side. There is absolutely no difference in tone. They are one in the same. One is just housed in a different, generic looking, metal enclosure with no labels.
To me, the Ibanez Tube Screamer (and it's assorted clones) all sound excellent and have that legendary tone that is heard on so many records. It adds just the right amount of bite to a clean signal, without venturing into Metallica/Slayer/Iron Maiden type of heavy metal territory. You want wicked hard rock/metal? Get a true distortion pedal.

No you are correct. As soon as I turned the power on I realized my mistake. I felt like such a M-O-R-O-N when I realized it...

As excited as you were about getting everything together, we'll forgive you--

So, you've had it together for a few days--what are your impressions?

The Pedaltrain board I like a lot but I should have bought one about 6 inches wider. I will probably get a few short & straight ended patch cables. That should save me enough space for future expansion options.

The Polytune 2 tuning pedal is just plain outstanding. The screen is bright and easy to read and tuning is a breeze. One quick strum, turn the tuners, and you are done. I like it so much that I ordered one for my granddaughter.

The MXR Carbon Copy delay pedal and the Blues driver are really nice BUT are going to take a while to get comfortable with, especially the delay pedal. You can get such a wide range on it that I could spend all day trying out different settings.

The Boss Chorus pedal sounds great right out of the box. I left everything on 12 o'clock and haven't really had to make adjustments.

Now the Dunlop Wah pedal I am having trouble using. It seems that I can't coordinate my foot with my hands for the life of me. I have to really concentrate to keep my hands from breaking tempo when I am moving my foot on the Wah pedal. I guess like everything else, it just takes practice.

I was worried I would have noise in my signal chain with the cheap One Spot power supply but so far everything is crystal clear (beginners luck I guess).

The Fender Blues Junior NOS is as good as it's reputation. I put off buying it for a long time and I shouldn't have. I have wasted money ordering amps that I ended up selling because they weren't as good as I thought. I bought and sold a VOX AD50VT, a Marshall solid state half stack, and a Carvin V3M micro head. The Fender I plan on keeping.

Surprisingly, my male boxer will lay in front of the amp and sleep while I play. I guess that is his sign of approval...

That's very cool--love the idea behind BYOC...

I'll have to check out the Polytune 2--it sounds like a keeper.

The MXR Carbon Copy's manual has some really good "suggestioned settings," at you a good starting point for your desired settings...

As for working a Wah, that is a skill that comes with practice...

Congrats on the new Fender Amp! It's quite a thrill to find "the One"...

Hi truebluefliplover,
Bigger isn't necessarily better...neither is 'more'. I've gone the route of filling up the Pedaltrain Jr. and even thinking I need more space. Now I'm back to usually just 3 to 4 pedals for simplicity, especially in a live performance setting. I don't care for Wah effects, so that saves a lot of space.

I'm still addicted to a variety of pedals, I just only use several at a time. More than that becomes overwhelming while performing live (both playing and singing). With Velcro, quick changes for fickle tastes are easy.

Here are a couple of very inexpensive pedals that sound great:
1) https://www.geartree.com/p-39097-joyo-j ... ables.aspx The Sweet Baby is a very mild OD and great for a solo boost just slightly more overdriven than a clean boost.
2) https://www.geartree.com/p-39100-joyo-j ... ables.aspx The Deluxe Crunch is on the order of the TS-9 and BD-1, but I actually like it better and use it more than my TS-9. Very sweet sound.

Geartree supplies two patch cables at no cost and @ $42 each, the JOYO pedals are an amazing value. Do a search and listen to each on YouTube and you'll be saving up $84 to feed your 'habit'. I'd almost guarantee it.
