I'm hoping to get my hot little hands on a Coronado XII or even a VI or a new Starcaster. Back when these guitars were new on the market I was absolutely gaga over them but given my young age I didn't have the money to purchase either one.I loved the Wildwood Coronados,I thought that they had the coolest finishes in the whole Fender line.I hope that they are both on the market long enough so that I can scrape up the bucks for at least one of each.

My next Fender purchase has been made. It is a HRDIII wine/vanilla with a C Rex speaker. It is due tomorrow. :D

I agree! That's exactly the P-Bass I'd like to get, except I can't swing over a grand for a bass right now without financial catastrophe. It will be a great day when I can.

Yup, same Hillsborough location! Green Shift is still in business as well. I just visited a week or so ago, cool place to find all kinds of cool vintage instruments, stereo equipment and everything in between!!!

I posted this reply before, but it was deleted because of the forum issue yesterday.

That's great they are still around and kicking and managed to survive the crap economy of the past couple of years. I always loved the eclectic nature of that place. Before you can get used gear dirt cheap at Guitar Center, that was one of the few places in the area that had a good size selection of used and odd ball amps for cheap around, along with all the other random stuff. I've got a bunch of stuff from them when I lived down there. I wish there was a place like that around here. I miss that vibe.

Beautiful bass with a rosewood neck. Only 20 frets allows me to admire without desire.

Enjoy!

Did you check out the Jaguar Bass? They are very versatile due to their wide range of pickup and tone variations, plus they have the same lovely slim neck that the Jazz Bass has which is perfect for a guitar player who wants to move on into playing bass.A lot of guitar players who change over to bass fid the hardest part of the change is getting use to the substantially wider neck width and relatively thick strings and high action, the Jaguar and Jazz basses really alleviate a lot of these hurdles. They are on sale in our area for somewhat less than $1,000 and much cheaper for the Squier models.

I'd like to see a 22 or even a 24 fret Precision Bass. I like a lot of frets.

The Jaguar was great to play. I played a reverse neck one, the sound was awesome, but the sacrifice of frets, ley all the GAS out.

Indeed. I'd settle for a 21 fret neck. I just need that high "E" for a coda to a particular song I play on. It's part of a riff I play, not even some solo. I have a P-Bass Lyte that has a 22-fret, so that's no problem. Besides, I wrote it on it. Unfortunately, that bass has recently died, so that's an issue I have to deal with the next time I play that song live.

The funny thing is I've noticed a lot of short scale basses (including a Hofner, which is another case of G.A.S. for me :P and those new Fender hollowbody basses) have at least 21 or 22 frets. They certainly have shorter necks, so I reckon they must have smaller spacing between frets at the base of the neck? I've never noticed anything drastically different in comparison to a P-Bass or Jazz, other than the one time I actually tried out a Hofner copy (I believe it was a Jay Turser model) I flew from one end of the neck to the other.

My next purchase would be this:

There is just something timeless about a Telecaster. Once you've played one, owned one, and sadly parted ways with one, you'll end up wanting another one again. I love my '95 Fender Stratocaster with all my heart, but I find myself wanting that crisp, clean tone spank from a Telecaster.

Image

I like the unpainted look, with a pure natural finish ash body and black pickguard. It would be the perfect mate for my Strat, wouldn't you think?

Yeah, I don't think you can go wrong with a Telecaster. 8)

I have the same natural body with a rosewood neck. I have a crappy pic too but, I'll spare ye.

Of four guitars, the Tele is my go to everyday guitar.

Just picked up a used 2007 MIM 5-string Jazz bass for half the price of a new one. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
