For those of you who drop tune your guitar 1/2 a step, Drop C, Drop D, or a full step down. Could you give me some link(s) on how to drop tune 1/2 a step, a whole step, and Drop C. I can already Drop D. That one is really easy, but due to the fact that I can't tune down anything besides D, I am really limited on what I can learn. So...possibly provide me with a link(s) on some instructions. Thanks guys!

Just Google "alternate guitar tunings". You'll find plenty of resources on that.

Use google to find out what notes comprise the tuning you are looking to do. Then if you don't have one, get a tuner, preferably one that is not just a standard tuning EADGBE tuner, one that can recognize any note. Start on the 5th string (or what is normally A in standard tuning), and tune it to whatever note you are seeking, then work your way down tuning all the other strings, then the 6th string, then go back and re-check everything again with the tuner. Adjust as needed. Please note, when tuning down, I think its better to go a bit further flat then tune it up to pitch, don't just tune down to the note you want, tune a little flat of the note you want, then sharpen to the note you want. Things stay in tune better when you tune down this way, or at least on my guitars it works better that way.

Now some may wonder, why start tuning the 5th string first, then work your way to the High E, and then the low E. Heres why. On most guitars the 5th string has more tension in it at pitch than the low E. If you tuned the low E first, there is the chance that when you tune the A to pitch, the extra tension needed for that string may pull the low E out of tune. So I was told to start with the 5th string work up, then back to the 6th...I don't know if it really matters, because you figure at some point the strings should get enough tension in them to keep the others in tune as well, but its the way I have been doing it for years, and it works well for me...
