An early Merry Christmas to everyone! Here's my lot, unfortunately the '65 is having some nut work done so it couldn't be here.

I see you got your LPJ - how do you like it?
And what's the Ovation like? I was considering getting one of those (the model without fret markers), but have heard mixed reviews.

I love the LPJ, the first thing that really struck me was how light it was, this was my first LP I have played that is chambered and it is now a manageable weight. The neck feels amazing, with only a rubbed finish on it, and the shape I really like. It's a beefy neck but very comfortable. I can really dig in with this neck and it is comfortable all down the fingerboard. The thing really resonates as well, and I get some really nice sustain with it. The electronics are good, I like the pickups, and there are still true potentiometers in addition to the pcp board. Overall an amazing deal and leaves Fender wonton in my book that Gibson can come out with this American made guitar for under $500. It is sad because Gibson is improving and adding to their affordable all American line while Fender seems to be instead pushing their new affordable Chinese line. The Ovations are great guitars that last and last and you never have to worry about cracks or humidity or unstable tuning. It has some great tone to it and is pretty loud for an acoustic guitar.

Oh and another great point about the Ovation is that the onboard electronics have phantom power!

Ferguson- What is that bass on the upper left? P51 or something? I covet one of those. Too bad I cant play bass. Elvis had one, so, its got to be good.

It is a '51 reissue, but since it is sunburst and has steel bridge saddles I call it a '54 reissue since that is more "accurate". It's a great bass and as soon as I got it I put some flatwounds on it and it sounds amazing. I can pretty much get an upright sound to a funk sound from it, and the single pickup really emphasizes the lows much more than the split pickup. It's a '94 Crafted in Japan and I picked it up for $560 and it came with a Lindy Fralin pickup installed by the owner before me. It also came with a pickup cover, hence the two holes you see by the pickup, but I want to get the pickguard to vintage spec because the cover is really asymmetrical over the pickup and it doesn't look good.
