I have been tuning to 432 for a few years now and use this tuning for all of my personal work. I can feel the difference between the two and prefer 432. There is validity to the math and how fractions are more elegant than others, in some views. I do believe the 440 is a conspiracy. Big deal, there is a lot of that stuff going around lately. Of course, since they are conspiracies.......move along now, nothing to see here.

I belong to a few different forums, most not music related. I feel it is good to contribute, but not bring up contentious material. Many still get their "information" from mainstream media and that makes for interesting an information reference..

We now return you to your regularly schedule 'programming'.

No - just trying to come up with controversial topics to keep
the discussions from getting stale around here.

I expect there may be something to it. In my humble opinion I think the math works better from an organic point of view.

The factors of the number 432 are:
2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 12, 16, 18, 24, 27, 36, 48, 54, 72, 108, 144, 216

I see multiples of 2 and 3 there. It seems simple and straight forward like something you would likely see in nature.

The factors of 440 are:
2 4 5 8 10 11 20 22 40 44 55 88 110 220 440

2 is present but 5 and 11 don't seem to me like natural or organic numbers that would be likely appear to commonly in nature with very much reoccurrence. Rather it makes me think of modern base 10 mathematics which of course is man-made.

My opinion, of course. YMMV.

That being said, I listened to the video in Mike's OP and I didn't hear or feel anything different other than the obvious fact the two were in a different key. I have a lot of what I call "Granola Crunchers" as friends. Basically leftovers from the hippy movement who still wear tie-died tee-shirts and consider themselves "spiritual" even though they vehemently (and sometimes violently) disbelieve in anything remotely close to the traditional concept of God. I'm sure they would jump all over this and use it to start trying to proselytize me again. From my perspective I don't think it matters whether you believe God is eternal or whether you believe the universe is eternal, I think the math still speaks volumes. I think it shows us a glimpse of how things work. I find it fascinating.

One thing I noticed in the salt and sound plate videos is that a number of the frequencies that align with the factors of 432 looked to me like 2 dimensional representations of a toroidal sphere. The toroidal energy sphere is the basis of the work of Nikola Tesla … which seems to further corroborate those numbers appearing in naturally occurring vibrations. Many of the frequencies that did not fall into that category produced salt patterns that looked to me to be unnatural.

I personally like 440. My buddy had one in a Plymouth Cuda when I was in high school! Fast car.... Looked kind of like this:

I have a friend in the next town (about 35 minutes away) who owns a '71 numbers matching Cuda 340 six-pack. Nobody has ever accused him of being too bright. He makes good money though. TIG weldor. He pulled the 340 and stuffed in a 440 bored and stroked to 493 and replaced the tranny and diff to keep up with the torque. His wife actually had to slap him across the face and threaten him with divorce because he was bound and determined to sell the 340 and trans to raise money for building the 440/493 romper project. Good thing she has a head on her shoulders.

So I wasn't flat all those times. I was just in tune with the universe.

There was also some genuine research into the effect of loud sound on the human body. This involved a man standing in front of a very large very loud speaker. They discovered that 13Hz resonated with the man's guts, and jiggled them up. He wasn't too well after that.

Did you notice how the "chakra"/mandala/psychedelic-supposedly-432 hz.-inspired geometric pattern had a remarkably "leafy" characterstic?

In the meantime, I will just program my iPod to play back at 432/440x100=98.18% of normal speed and see what happens.
