The best "new" amp. I have one and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I had a '59 Bassman reissue before I got the Jr and it so much better than the more expensive bassman. You made the right choice  The best thing is that it has a master and volume so you can get true tube distortion at lower volume levels.

Thanks for the input wferguson. I appreciate it. I have been wanting one for quite a while. Every time I hear one it really impresses me.

Very good choice. Just wait till the speaker gets broken in, it will sound even better.

Sweet! This is the amp I normally use to test drive guitars and dirt pedals when I'm at Guitar Center. Precisely because you can get it to sound good without blasting the whole store's eardrums out.

There are others I like better, but volume control can be a bit of a hassle...

I bought one of those last December , It's my favourite . Put it on a stand , up off the floor and it sounds even better.

Here's mine, I have the limited edition one where they put in the mod fat circuit instead of the factory standard one.

This "Mod fat circuit instead of the factory standard one " comment , can you elaborate on that ?

The one I have has a chrome control panel , the fat button is black , the handle is a vintage looking brown leather . I bought it at Long & Mcquade , they just got another batch of them for the gift giving season . They say it is an exclusive to Long & Mcquade , as they were last year , made in small batches , last year's was a limited run of 120 units , as shown on the hang tag . My receipt says - FENDER FSR BLUES JR III LTD/BASSMAN CHROME , fender model #223-0500-021 . It has the Jensen speaker , I think it's the same speaker as in a deluxe reverb re-issue. They sell these for $629.99 this year , last years was $649.99.
I bought the foot switch for mine a short time later as a convenience.
Great amp ! , there's a number of amps in my music room , this is the one that I go to first , followed by my Pro Junior , my Excelsior , then the Super Champ XD , in that order.

As shown on the current model from Musician's Friend, the back does not have the limited edition badge or the MOD fat circuit. It has the standard factory fat circuit. What the sound or tonal differences might be I am not sure because I have only played and owned the limited edition one.

Ya me too , there is a limited edition badge on mine as well. The fat button gets you into some pretty sweet tones , I've been able to find equally pleasing settings without the fat button , with the dials on the amp and the dials on whatever guitar happens to be plugged into it.

The exclusive / limited to Long & Mcquade thing ? as claimed by the sales guy ? , I'm not sure how much truth there is to that or if it's a sales trick they use.

What is more important to me is that , I do love this amp .

Eventually the tubes will need replacing. I was just wondering, is there a guide on how to do that? Is it very difficult?

It's pretty easy.

http://www.groovetubes.com/

Browse the groove tube site , there's some discussion about maintenance

Pretty much pull them down and out as straight as possible and you should be fine. The absolute worst thing you can do is twist while pulling, it WILL mess up your plug sockets. Oh and make sure the amp is UNPLUGGED before removing any tubes.
