Speaking of, I met Mick Box once. He's a very nice guy who doesn't take himself seriously.
"Very 'Eavy... Very 'Umble" could be a description of the man himself.

Nicely done sir art, I saw them at the Oxford New Theater in 1974 did not get close enough to meet them, very lucky you and Mick!

I think loose or tight, the value will be about the same.

It's very unlikely that any of the guitars made in the past 2 or 3 decades will reach the iconic Holy Grail status that the pre CBS and pre Norlin era Fenders and Gibsons respectively have attained. There are several factors that contribute to that. These days most guitars are of uniform construction due to CNC fabrication and consistent specs in mass produced components etc. Guitars made from the 60s and older and even some in the 70s were largely hand made-or much more so than now- and the components and electronics used in them weren't of consistant quality and that went for pickups too because some pickups were wound tighter or hotter than others and consequently some guitars came onto market that were just incredible to play and sounded far superior to others. All of these vintage era guitars are more valuable now largely due to these reasons but the rarity of the finish can often more than double a vintage guitar's value if it was a lower priced model but in a very rare finish such as a Duo-Sonic or Musicmaster in Shoreline Gold or Seafoam Green etc. which would make a guitar usually worth $2,000 with a regular finish to be worth as much as $5,000 depending on the rarity of the custom colour.

Some current guitar models may see a higher value than others in years to come but they will be few and far between and would be most likely very limited production runs of some models and even then it's doubtful that any of them will ever attain the massive appreciation in value that the guitars of the 60s ever did. It's doubtful any of the thousands of almost identical Teles,Strats,Les Pauls,SGs etc. made in cookie cutter regularity will ever attain Holy Grail status,so paint and mod away at your guitar-the worst you could do is make it worth more than it would be if you didn't touch it.

Good... I have a couple of guitars i would never be able to mess with(a couple of Ric's and strats the latter bein for sentimental reasons). One might say"just sell it and get one in a colour you like and save the hassle, but i just really like the way that tele feels, just don't really care for the colour.
Originally it belonged to a friend of ours who was short on cash and needed to sell it so my girl decided to buy it from him. She actually dislikes the colour aswell. Lately she has been talking about selling it which I've had a problem with because the thing plays so great. Sooo I made a trade with her ..her tele for one of my cajon's.
That should explain why iam asking you all this question and from what i'm hearing i should'nt worry about it .
