Some people seem to think that Leslie emulators, Uni-Vibes and Vibratos all do the same thing. If you listen to them side by side they are all quite different. I use all 3 (not at the same time, of course) and they all have their place.

...and yes, I agree: there is a difference between Leslie and Uni-Vibe (and Tremolo and Vibrato)...and I love all of 'em!

...but the RT20 has a good Uni-Vibe setting along with some very good Leslie simulations, so it may be a feasible pedal for the OP's needs.

Yah, you're right. I remember now. I had forgotten it had that feature when I tried it. You're right. It's not great. If it had been great I would have remembered it because I'm pretty sure the time I tried it was while I was out shopping for a Uni-Vibe. I was looking for great. Thanks for the heads up, SA.

Anyone tried the new Hammond Leslie pedal that recently come out?

You just reminded me of something Cvilleira, there is an authentic Leslie amp and cabinet being made now that's guitar specific by Hammond-Suzuki.This new Leslie sounds incredible and like the old gargantuan Leslie's really make the guitar sound very organ like. You can get these for about $1,400 as just a rotating drum encircling the 12" bottom speaker with the spinning horns up top or in that same configuration with a powerful built in amp for about $1,600.What really adds to the already incredible sound is an optional expression pedal that not only controls the fast-slow-chorale settings but allows you to increase or decrease the speed in one smooth transition that does away with raising or lowering the speed in steps, consequently you are not bound to 2 basic speeds. Look here http://www.hammondorganco.com/ and key in G-37 or Studio 12 in the search box and you'll find info about them as well as links to dealers.

Guitslinger, I have seen them for sale at the local shop but have not tried one. Would like to try the new Leslie pedal but have yet to find one in stock locally to play thru. On line they are selling for 399. and for that price I would like to try myself.

From the demo videos I have watched, the Leslie pedal is just plain incredible and very true to the sound and performance of the real McCoy.It certainly is as good as or even better than any of the best pedals that are now on the market.I have the Tech 21 NYC RotoChoir and the TC electronics Nova Modulation pedal plus the Leslie emulating setting on my Vox AD-120-VTH,which are all very accurate copies of the actual Leslie and the Leslie pedal is every bit as good as these.Since the RotoChoir has a suggested retail of $279,the Leslie Pedal isn't too bad a value and it sure beats lugging around a 125 lb. 820 cabinet.

Just ordered a Fulltone MDV3. It's amazing. Trower actually uses one.

Yeah, it uses actual photocells and incandescent light and transistors like the original Uni-Vibe. There's supposedly no IC's or digital modeling involved.

I have used the RT20 and it does do a decent Uni-Vibe and you get the cool lightshow too, but to my ears, the Fulltone hits the nail right on the head and for thirty bucks more, I figure why not. The RT20 is a good unit, but still sounds digital to me and lacks the organic tone of the MDV3. I had an original Uni-Vibe way back, but had a ton of problems with it. Still the RT20 is a great unit for a great price. I'm finally going to get a pedal board going with all the effects I've built. I still need to build a Fuzzface now that the MDV3 is coming. Gotta bone up on my Hendrix and Trower licks now.
