Yes I have a small number, about 1200 lp's, 90 cassettes, a few 78's and 45's in boxes in my little sisters garage lol. I should look for a turntable one of these days

Get an AT-LP120.

Thankyou Floyd, I've checked out the website and this looks like the perfect turntable for sure. :D

A big +1 for the Audio Technica turntable, it is built like a Sherman tank and with the built in switchable phono pre amp, usb and rca outs, connecting to a receiver and/or a computer could not be easier.
Cheers,

I don't know what turntable I would buy today. I have a Thorens (1987) and a nice Sony PS-X7 from around 1980. I'd have to do a lot of spec comparisons.

One ARS LP I bought Saturday was warped, so I got that exchanged and also bought a 2 LP 1977 reissue of ARS's first two albums (for $4!).

Vinyl to me has just always had a depth and warmth that is lacking in other mediums.
When all my friends were raving about the new Compact Discs in the 80's I thought they just sounded thin and trebly if id heard the same music previously on Vinyl.
I still do.

There is a guy in our area who buys up used vintage audiophile quality audio gear and refurbishes for sale-his prices are unbelievably low.He is always selling old Marantz, Klipsch,Dual,Crown and other top shelf gear for a fraction of what it's worth.I've been seriously thinking about upgrading my turntable and amp with some older but uber-quality products.I'd really like to get a tube powered amp such as a Crown etc. to replace my solid state Hitachi, even though that's an excellent amp that really puts out a clean and clear sound unless you really drive the guts out of it.Vintage vinyl sounds much better on vintage stereo gear.

Re the ARS: We used to play Spooky in just about every group I was in.There is something about the chord structure of that song that really allows and inspires a lead player to improvise a great lead break-well it always did for me anyway,I used to set my delay to match the tempo of the song and then do a solo matching the beat of the delay and layering my riffs, with a touch of chorus or phase it really led to some inspired lead breaks.

I played some Sammy Hagar vinyl today. I will have to check out my used record store to see if I can pick up a few of his early LPs that I don't have. (I found Standing Hampton, but there are a few more on my list.)

I found some high quality live ARS shows in the last few days (from 1975 & 1976).
