I believe they put out 3. A few live CDs have been released in the recent past.

That and Street Corner Talking are on my favorites list. I've always liked the raw edgy playing of Kim Simmonds.

Has anyone tried the new Beatles vinyl yet? I think The Beatles belong on vinyl but these were remastered for cd.
I want one and am curious how they sound but $25 is expensive gamble if it sucks. I already have the stereo cd box set.
Saw a mint KISS Dynasty and Ted Nugent Scream Dream at Vintage Stock this weekend but not fond of either record.

I will always buy the CD then upload it to my computer.
I do not like buying mp3s, digital books, digital comics or digital movies.

The last couple of years I've been buying mp3 albums when they are cheap enough, but basically I agree with you. My first choice is to buy the CD and rip to the hard drive. I miss the artwork and liner notes on the old vinyl covers. My vinyl is stored a thousand miles away and I've been thinking of reclaiming it. Not sure if my turntable still works.

Tell you what changed my mind... had a harddrive crash with an entire digital collection on there and had sold all the cds.
I ended up rebuying so much I will always have the hardcopy sitting on the shelf from now on. Amazon now offers a cloud which is cool and if you check it out the cd and autorip from them is usually much cheaper than just the mp3 album.
Digital exclusives there is no choice of course, but like the new KISS cd it eventually came on an import so I got both the itune song and the cd :)

Yep, I'm using Amazon's cloud, too. Still I fear my collection will evaporate someday, somehow. Would rather have the tangible product in my hand.

No, but I have all of the original (Capital versions) vinyl in storage like the rest. I've resorted to buying the CDs and I have all but the earliest releases.

Also, those Crosley players are crap, guys. They'll scratch/wear down your records, and the speakers are pretty bad. AT-LP120 is the way to go.

You pirate? I dont even have words for you sir. I just can't wait for a virus to wipe your entire hard drive.

Someone doesn't understand how computers work, how bands make money, or really have the slightest damn clue about anything outside of white christian american suburbia USA USA *guitar solo* CLASSIC RAWK.

But yes, all these bands I've given loads of money in merch and ticket sales, all these out of print albums and rare compilations, all these unavailable cassette demos, how ever will the artists go on without 10¢ from an album sale?

Tell me, why is piracy bad? Why is free music bad?

That was a delightful read in the morning.
With the new Myspace there is no need to illegally download you can stream and listen to what you want.
Then decide what you want to own and go buy it.
Most people who download, the music means nothing to them. They just fill hard drives to say they did.

Or, I can pirate an album, since practically nobody uses goddamn myspace, and if I like it, go to a show when the band comes through, most likely buy a shirt, patch, or other form of merch (hell, maybe even a record!), and actually support them in a meaningful way. Yes, all this music I NEVER would have been able to afford, and as a result never would have been able to go support the band, is such a horrible thing.

And no, I don't "fill harddrives just to say I did". I don't have the attention span of a rat, and I enjoy music greatly, so I listen to a lot of it.

Also, SK, please don't even pretend like you know xxxxx about the current underground music scene, let alone enough to speak of the implications of music piracy. Stay in your small bubble of distorted nostalgia for a time you didn't experience.

Oh, and for the record, I just dropped $60 on a new 3 LP set of a record I pirated several years ago, last week I spent $30 on merch (and $5 to get in) for a band whose music I've never paid for, an the other day bought a CD and a double LP of a band I found by pirating. xxxxxxx. It's a wonderful resource to expand knowledge, and allows me exposure to a vast amount of music I would never even know about otherwise. You should try it sometime, you might realize good music exists after 1975.

In answer to the question "Why is piracy bad?" quite frankly it's bad because every time an illegal copy of an artist's song is downloaded, said artist is being ripped off by not getting the royalties that they are rightfully and legally entitled to.Every year artists loose bilions in royalties due to the proliferation of pirate sites.Personally I never download pirated copies of any of my favourite artists because proclaiming my loyalty to an artist and then turning around and pirating all of their music that I can, would be very hypocritical and would actually be purposely ripping them off.

Having said all of that, there is one artist whose music I have no qualms about pirating and that is Jimi Hendrix recordings because in pirating his music I am in fact ripping off Janie Hendrix who is for all intents and purpose is ripping off Jimi's true blood relatives by not giving them as much as an occasional free CD,let alone his inheritance which his father had promised to all of his and Jimi's mother's blood relatives. In the final months of his life he was virtually kept under house arrest and relatives were denied access to him because he was always either "sick" or "sleeping". It was during these months that Al's (Jimi's father) will had changed quite substantially and the inheritance that was promised to be divided among "ALL" of Jimi's blood relatives was left in its entirety to Janie, who was absolutely no relation to Jimi, but was lucky enough to be the daughter of Al's second wife.Despite the flights of fancy she takes talking about the great times she had with her "big brother",in fact many close family have confirmed that Jimi hardly knew her and even forgot her name in his last phone call home before his death.I feel that I have good reason to beripping her off since she so cruelly ripped off Jimi's own flesh and blood and kept what was rightfully theirs away from them, even his 5 siblings of which some are living in near poverty or are institutionalized.Sorry about the rant but Jimi's legacy and his blood relatives being denied it under very very suspicious circumstances, really gets me steamed and whereas I owe him so much for being such a huge influence and inspiration for me,the least that I can do is to let people know how his family was done what appears to be a very dirty deal.
