Hey gang,

Have you listened to the Ramparte™ amplifier, the latest addition to our eccentric (and great-sounding) Pawn Shop Special series? With a unique look and versatile palette of tones packed into a diminutive package, this charmingly unconventional amp makes for a killer addition to any Fender fan's collection.

The look alone—a vintage-inspired chocolate-and-copper fabric covering, double-headed eagle logo badge and aged chicken-head knobs—proves this amp is as much a conversation starter as it is a powerful purveyor of true Fender tone.

Then there's the uncompromised sound of this nine-watt beast, which shines thanks to the Ramparte's class A circuitry, a 12-inch Special Design speaker and the balanced versatile tube tone of a 6L6 power tube. Best of all, the Ramparte offers distinctly dynamic "hot" and "cool" channels that allow you to take your sound from warm and clean to wildly overdriven.

Want to hear it? Check out the video for the Ramparte amp here, and let us know what you think!

"To wildly overdriven" is an exaggeration. There is nothing "wildly" about it.

I was very tempted to buy one, but after hearing it, I decided against it, because I found no personality apart from the looks. Several people have described the sound as boxy - I respectfully disagree, and think how it sounds is just plain unexciting.
If Fender made cars, this would be the PT Cruiser. The looks stand out, and it's very affordable, but it's just not an exciting drive.

The one thing that is missing from all of these new amps is what Fender is best known for and that's REVERB!

That missing reverb is the one reason I won't buy any of these amps.

Spend $200 on the little Bugera and you not only get 5W of sweet tone - you get REVERB!

I really don't care for dry overdriven sounds.

No tone controls? Interesting.

Hot channel is ..'not my cup of tea, old chap'. Sound is really unappealing.

Who the heck wants to listen to a low output dry amp anyways? Yuk!

I know these are built to a price and for a retro vibe, but .. No reverb, no loop = no thanks.
