I went to see Johnny Winter last Friday at our local music hall. He was really good. He's been through a lot but is recovering nicely. He did a lot of my favorites, "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl", "Highway 61", "Johnny Guitar"...... Paul Nelson who manages Johnny is his second guitarist. He's had some pretty serious health issues besides his substance abuse like a broken hip which is why he has trouble standing, and carpel tunnel surgery on his left hand, problems with his eyes. He played really well considering everything. It was a great show and thank you Paul Nelson for taking care of one of my all time favorite guitarists and musical influences.
Oh, and Johnny's voice was great too.

Here's a few photographs I took from the show.

It was some custom guitar. It has his name carved into it and a ton of intricate graphics. I can't remember who made it for him. It sounds pretty cool. Not as sweet as the Firebird though. He didn't use the Lazer at all.

Great pics, as always, and thanks for sharing.

I've been a fan since first hearing this album:

Saw him with his brother & Rick Derringer on the White Trash tour and he blew the roof off - amazing!

I saw Johnny about 6 weeks ago, front row center, and he was amazing !

When I saw him, he did bring his Firebird out for the last half of his show.

Thanks for posting,Johnny Winter is certainly committed to his playing and I admire his courage to have endured all he's been through and still insist in bringing his music to his fans. He's more indestructible than Keith Richards. His playing style is so steeped with emotion and energy that nobody has come anywhere near his tremendous talent.

Those were some great pix too.

EDIT: Fixed a typo, the computer dropped a few words from my post that I hadn't noticed and one sentence made no sense like it was.

Is that an old Music Man 410-65 amp that he is playing through?
