Has anyone tried this pedal? I think it might be a GC exclusive. I have an unfulfilled desire to find one battery operated pedal that I could take to open mic nights and get a good blues / classic rock sound no matter what amp I plug into. This T-Rex Fat Shuga is an overdrive with reverb, but I'm not sure how well it sounds or works.
I bought the Golden Cello from Mad Professor. I really like the overdrive but would rather be combining it with reverb rather than the delay it has. I also have the Mad Professor 1 which has reverb but the overdrive/distortion is way too heavy for what I do at open mic nights. Am I chasing a ghost?

I haven't tried the Fat Shuga, but I can heartily recommend the TC MojoMojo. It's a nice blues/tube sound, darker than most overdrives.
With the TCs, the battery is easily changed - single coin screw.

If you want more distortion than overdrive, there's the TC Dark Matter. And if you go all the way through death metal and out the other side, there's the Rottweiler waiting for you.

The pedals I mentioned all have either reverb or delay built in. I know not too many amps don't have reverb, but I run into a few. I'm trying to cover my bases by having OD and reverb in the one pedal.
I did watch a video on the Mojo mojo and though it is a little dark it sounds pretty good. If I want to go with just an overdrive, I have a Keeley modded TS9 Turbo Screamer.
If no one has tried one, I may be the guinea pig and pick up a Fat Shuga and give it a try.

"T-Rex Fat Shuga. Am I chasing a ghost?"

That is a good question Andy. I heard a rumor that if you sat quietly in an average sized room with a television and watched the screen, in the reflection some times ghosts will appear. not apparitions but images of people moving in the back ground watching the screen as you are. Quite creepy

Luckily, I don't watch TV. But thanks for the warning Rollie! :D

I did buy a Fat Shuga. I'm not sure what to make of it so far. I need to experiment more. The reverb is usable. The OD is pretty mellow and cleans up easy. As would be expected I'm getting different results with different guitars. I'll report back if anyone is interested.
