Who were those dudes who played with you on stage at school?

What help do you need? Just find (hopefully-trust me it's not always easy) the right people to jam with and click with and play. If you can do that then that's half the battle. Don't worry about your amp so much as long as it doesn't crap out on you. You don't have to have state of the art gear to play with other people, if that's what you mean, or are worried about.

Advertise locally, visit local rehearsal rooms - hang out and network

Take care, I hear you can be arrested now in Queensland for belonging to a group.

id always recommend joining rather than forming a band, best way to learn and grow is to play with better and better people as opposed to always leading the way and having them follow your lead.

Actually being the one to put a band together is hard work, and unless youre ready with the material and the talent/drive etc. it can be demoralising (not saying youre not ready necessarily!). Id always recommend doing your time learning from the best musicians you can find in your area before striking out on your own. If you played with some older guys before, maybe explore that again, i always found people a few years up from me at school to also be a few years ahead musically, so i latched on to them and managed to learn a lot. Most of my first gigs came this way.

Best of luck nathan

I go over the area every couple weeks looking for blues rock guys. It's either Ed Hardy wearing drop D bands looking for bass...or it's bands heavily influenced by Maroon 5. I guess it's better than a few years ago..,with the rap/metal thing that was happening.

Yeah, I wanna play with people a few decades older, I've played with a 67 year old who knows a fair bit about playing, he let me play one of his 1980s off brand guitars, it sounded great, and I got to play his old acoustics as well, and he had a Nihon Hammond organ laying around and I get to play that every day lo

"Form" a one-man "band" like "Iron & Wine" did. "Iron & Wine" is a man named Sam Beam. His first two albums were recorded in his bedroom using cheap equipment.

I bet Deathmetal had something to do with it.

Oh...my advice to the op is to avoid craigs. You'll get pics of dongs in you email from that place.

Those year 12's you were jamming with at school might know some people.

Cause Queensland government thinks they're the new nazis or something along those lines.
