I never served but I am grateful for those who did.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Every single person living in the free world owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to those who are prepared to lay down their own lives in order to keep us free from aggressors and anyone who poses a threat to our lives and freedom.

Stephen Harper, the Prime Minister of Canada, is coming under fire from the opposition parties and from the Canadian people from coast to coast,by cutting many of the health and disability benefits that have been given to wounded soldiers. What's just totally galling and a slap in the face to all veterans,is that now Harper is attacking death benefits to the survivors of those who are killed in action and is also reducing the aid for funeral costs etc.,the man is a loose cannon and there are a proliferation of groups springing up to fight him and press getting him removed from office. There is a FB site called "I don't like what Stephen Harper is doing to Canada" that is rapidly gaining momentum as is a group called "Canadians Rallying to unseat Stephen Harper" even his most ardent supporters are becoming jaded and very unsatisfied with his heavy-handed,autocratic behaviour and especially his mean-spirited,cruel and inhuman treatment of our bravest and most universally revered citizens.

God Bless all those who have died or were injured in the name of freedom and those who stand at the ready to lay down their lives to keep us out of harm's way.
