The E-Bow Plus is a phenomenal accessory for guitarists-especially lead players. There is a demo/instructional CD with it and the sounds that this little gem is capable of producing can replicate just about every instrument that you'd find in a symphony orchestra and then some. Just with my cursory fiddling around with it this afternoon,I could get a very respectable violin tone and also get a great backwards guitar effect, which should be great for emulating the lead break to "Are You Experienced?" which I'd always tried to perfect with a volume pedal but with limited success.I got really great results doing the lead break to "May This Be Love" from the Are You Experienced album,it sounded a lot like the album version, especially when the signal was drenched with reverb but I need to break out with my digital delay to get the authentic sound of the album's lead break. There is a pretty large and long learning curve and with the close action I have on all my guitars,it's going to be a bigger challenge because it's a bit of a job to keep it from hitting the string I'm playing on.I'm not supposed to be playing it as it's part of my Christmas present.but I'm going to give the Missus a demo this evening so I can have an excuse to go at it for another while.

I've wanted one of these for a while now. I just wonder if I would use it more than I do my Ravish Sitar pedal? Congrats. 8)

For the myriad of instrument voices the E-Bow is capable making, the price is almost a give away(I hope nobody from E-Bow is reading this thread)the E-Bow would sound incredible used in conjunction with the Ravish Sitar.I can't wait to run it through my effects chain with the wah wah, fuzz(maybe),chorus, vibrato, tremolo, phaser, flanger, octave pedal, sonic maximize,tc electronics nova modulator and digital delay. I'll have infinite voicing possibilities when I utilize any mixture of these pedals and the E-Bow.

I wish there was a smaller version. It's basically 1969's tech in a 1969's package.
It would be nice to be able to use it on just a string or two, and quickly switch to picking.

THAT's my main reason for wanting one!

Yes, I've heard there's a big learning curve, but then, so too with a theremin.
In both cases, ya get to make cool noises while you're learning.

Slowly but surely,I'm starting to get the hang of the thing.I haven't had a lot of time to practice with it much because there's so much to do around the house.I took my little Vox Mini 3 out yesterday because it has a built in echo, flanger and chorus.Anyway I usedm it with a medium speed repeat on the delay and attempted the lead break to "Love Hurts" from memory.Because I was doing it from memory I didn't get every little nuance of it that Manny got but what I did get sounded surprisingly like the original even with the feedback(getting feedback in the key you want takes a lot of trial and error) it depends what string you use and what part of the neck you use to get the same note and in the same octave.I'm truly sorry if my talking about this amazing bit of gear has triggered an outbreak of GAS,but that's a risk we all sign up for when we become musicians...lol.

.Hello Arth1,I don't find the ebow particularly large and I don't know how big the previous models were, but this seems to take up a little more space than a golf ball. The manual suggests that you put a small tray on your mic stand for it so that you can access it fairly quickly and put it down quickly when you need to use it .They also suggest that you put self adhesive Velcro behind your headstock or anywhere else that's handy and put another piece on the ebow so they can be pulled apart and stuck back together with relative ease and quickly. There are a lot of ingenious ways to have them easily accessible I imagine if you were to sit and contemplate it for a while.
