Mine was one of those crappy Ashton brand electric guitars, it sucked but it worked, so what was your first? my current one I am using is my Gretsch Junior Jet G5215

Hey Nathan
This was my first real electric.
It was a 70s Aria Les Paul Custom Copy.
Made in the Fugi factory
Later Gibson and Fender would team up for the first time in history in a lawsuit against these manufacturers.
They then returned with the same Aria Ibanez and Hondo guitars with Epiphone and Fender logos on them.
They then became "authorized copies".

A sweet Oscar Schmidt by Washburn duel humbucker gibson style that I should have kept and miss a lot. This one's not mine but it was like this.

Oh wait actually I had a very crappy Ibanez acoustic before this.

My 1st guitar was an Ibanez "Blazer". Very decent Stratocaster copy. Clear finish, ash body, maple neck w/ maple board. Pickups were decent. 3 single coils, 5 way switch and a phase toggle as well. Good sound and played well. Got stolen out of my car after a Gig back in the day. Wish I still had it.
Before that was my brother's Hohner Les Paul copy. Which wasn't bad!

Image my first was this dean baby V. bought it from a friend for 100 dollars, then about 2 weeks later traded it (plus 50 bucks or so) for this no name, no serial numbers, beater strat copy. love at first sight. it's currently my only electric. I've had a lot of nice fenders, an eastwood, and a few others, but this thing has been all over the country with me. I've had it for.....11 years now.
how it looked when i was 17 :

My first guitar was a no name unfinished acoustic I got a garage sale. Ended up painting a psychedelic montage in watercolor on it and leaving it on display in my apartment and not really playing it too much. Stayed with piano and organ for a long time until mobilizing to Afghanistan where there weren't too many pianos to be had, so I picked up an MIM Strat.

Old Samick acoustic that was virtually unplayable. Then I got an old Vester Stage series Strat copy that was my first electric :)

I played a Custom Shop 1958 Strat Relic that some guy had made custom for himself, and oh my f**king god that guitar had some serious tone to play with that Marshall JVM 1 watt head at clean tones with Buddy Holly on the second and 4th position, I freaking love Holly and I did one of his songs on that guitar, in the key of E of course, I sing in the key of E so I play in the key of E, and I wanted that guitar but I cried at the price, so I did a bit of blues on it before I left, you could see the tears on my face when I found out it was 4K :( I wish I had the K for that 1958 Relic Strat and that JVM 1 watt head, I really want to play this setup live and I liked it so bad I wanted it, and it was straight in no pedals nothing just straight guitar and cable <3 I really liked it and it had my tone in there, which was Buddy Holly esque, Maybe I am destined to bring Buddy back from the dead? :D I'm gonna heavily channel Holly if I can get a '58 Relic Strat and a JVM1 head and 1936 cab, find out the settings for that tone and change them to that, and play some good old songs <3 Don't mind the long rant I am still kicking myself that I didn't buy that Strat, but I didn't have the cash :(

I know, I'll get it custom made to be like Holly's 58, and with a nice set of pickups to have a nice crisp clean tone, I'm not sure what to order, did you see the thread where I talk about this guitar?
