OK, so the last few posts in the tone thread started by tobugg made me think.. have we had a band names thread?

I recently passed a sign outside a pub advertising a band playing there called `the banned`, made me chuckle.

Besides that, i once had a mate who wanted to call a band `your mum`.

Anyone come across any great band names they want to share?

Hello olly, there have been more than a few "band name" threads, which on a music Forum is the way it should be lol. Bob Dog, Pocket Rocket, Your Sisters Underpants, Big Eyes, only baloney, terra rufus. 8)

I have some awesome ideas for band names. My problem is finding players to be in my band!

Skirt So Plain and Her Wanna are copyrighted and trademarked, so don't take those.

I'm a poet and I like to rhyme multiple syllables. Like even more than eminem. I do things where EVERY syllable of the entire line rhymes.

And I come up with band names that convey 7 meanings all at the same time.

But I don't have a drummer, bassist, or vocalist.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

When I was in high school in the early 70s we had band play at one of our school dances that went by the name "Snatch the Bearded Clam" no kidding. We had another local act that was a comedy duo and they sang hilarious parody and political and social satire songsthey went by the name "Free Beer" one of the duo went on to form a wildly popular musical comedy band called "Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellas" they play sell-out venues all across Canada..A few of my old high school pals got together when the punk craze was starting and they started a group called "Atomic Youth in Asia" which I thought was a pretty good play on words. I was hoping to maybe name my next band "Ben Dover and Seymour Butt".
