That's a real pity,he was definitely one of the leading innovators in the custom wound and boutique pickup industry, plus he made considerable contributions to pickup research with guitar companies.

Wilde Bill designed several pickup series for Fender including all the "SCN" ones. Sympathies out to Becky and the family. WILDE PICKUPS will press on making his latest designs with a business as usual policy in place because it is how Wilde Bill wanted it. He had been in declining health and his passing was nothing sudden or unexpected, even though unwelcome by all who knew him. Bill Lawrence was one of the most respected pickup innovators for sure, but also remember that he was a very, very great guitar and bass player too!

Xhefri and I were just talking about him Friday last while checking out my '57VHR and AmDlxVG Strats which have SCN's in them.
