Hi Cryingstrat,

It is a mini-humbucker intorduced in
1962 on the Johnny Smith model.

Also available as two pickup assembly.
I prefer the single.

I've assured Santa I'll be good all
year and to keep something like
this in mind, maybe.

Cheers.

I love jazz guitar and I love Metheny's work, but his "Zero Tolerance for Silence" may be the worst CD I have ever listened to in my life. I heard a story that he wanted out of his contract, but he had an obligation to his label for one more record and I guess he didn't want to do one. ZTfS was the result.

I don't know if he's still around or even alive for that matter but I saw classical guitarist Michael Lorimer backed by the Charlotte(NC) symphony orchestra at Queens College back around 1980 or so. Classical music wasn't my choice to listen to but I didn't want to miss a chance to see a guitar virtuoso such as Mr. Lorimer.

Its not a competition, and even if were comparing those two particular guitarists is absolutely pointless. Its like comparing vanilla and chocolate icecream. Both great but for different tastes.
