I have been playing Guitar for about 4 years now (Have been drumming for 12 but that is a separate issue). I love my Seagull Acoustic, its my baby. I typically play Dave Matthews and like rhythm styles as well as some poorly attempted Tommy Emmanuel tunes.

Anywho...... I have always had a beat up electric guitar and want to get into some more electric/lead playing (i have a new am strat deluxe on order and will be picking up a superchamp xd with it. :D :D :D)
What I would like to know is if there are any good books for picking up more electric oriented techniques or even just any good place to start... If my years spent drumming (my main instrument) have taught me is that a great teacher is impossible to replace... however this is really my side project and I will be enlisting soon and I feel that when I have time to play a book or website will be the best i can do.

Thank you in advance.

you can go to ultimate-guitar.com for tabs, as well as 911tabs.com Can't help you along the way of books, but you can find just about whatever songs you may be looking there.

I wanted to learn how to play the blues and found a book called "The Blues for Dummies". And I'll tell you, I've learned a lot from that book.

There are many books that can teach you basic or advanced techniques. Swing by your local music store and check out what they have to offer. I am sure that you can find something that you could learn from. Good Luck!

I don't usually get things out of books, I go to ultimate-guitar.com. That site rocks!!! They've got almost any song you would ever want to play on there

I'm just getting started with "Blues You Can Use"...came with a CD with short audio examples of your "homework". Got it for a reasonable price from Amazon.
