i keep most of my guitars stock with little modding except for one MIM strat that i really go to town on. After i finished swapping out pickups for some protube lipstick pickups and installed a kill switch (making 1 tone and 1 volume in the process) the guitar was making no sound but horrible sqelching. After triple checking my solder and reviewing all the diagrams i notice that tiny little wire coming in from my input jack only had a positive hookup, the negative one was snipped so close it could not be seen.

One ugly solder later the beast is ready for surf-tastic riffs. I was about a minute away from ordering all new pots and switches. Just goes to show how important ground wires are.

Was this right before he touched a mains wire and departed?

John, intelligence is no longer a desireable trait to possess in the USA. However, I appreciate your input always. Keep the faith Brother.
